Is it a good idea to make home renovations when you plan to sell your home anyway? Many people think that making some improvements will increase the resale value.

Some home sellers go into the trouble of adding in swimming pools, landscaping, changing the carpet and wall papers. But some buyers actually are turned off by these things specially if they jack up the selling price. Also, whatever you put in may be taken out anyway by the buyer because they may not like it. So, it's safer to keep the property as-is when you're planning to sell it.
